A Dublin Thanksgiving :)

Thanksgiving! Since all of our American friends were feeling the same way about missing out on homemade pumpkin pie, a full Thanksgiving dinner and family all around, we decided that we’d have our very own Thanksgiving at DCU! Alli bought a cooked a turkey breast, and everyone else in attendance was supposed to bring one dish. I made green bean casserole, potatoes au gratin, and an appetizer plate of celery and cream cheese. All in all though, we had turkey, gravy, cranberry sauce, corn, stuffing, sweet potato casserole, mashed potatoes, bread, cheesecake, baked stuffed apples, pumpkin bread and apple pie! Not too shabby, I’d say! The meal was delicious and all in all, about 21 of us all gathered together for a Dublin Thanksgiving! We even invited some French friends over to experience our favorite American tradition J

Alli and her ginormous turkey breast!

My potatoes- they came out so so good!

Our Dublin family for Thanksgiving :)

It was actually really interesting to explain the holiday to people from other countries- it made me actually think back to what it was really all about! Even though I couldn’t be with my real family on Thanksgiving back in the states, it was nice to be with my family in my home away from home here in Dublin. J
